David Wheeler
Managing Partner
Mr. Wheeler has more than 30 years of financial experience and more than a dozen years of healthcare industry experience. As a longtime consultant, Mr. Wheeler was MedImpact’s acting Chief Financial Officer for 13 years before leading his own venture capital firm. His duties include executive level financial advisory and planning, financial analyses of overall operations, and development of a global growth plan. He is also responsible for developing and maintaining strategic relationships with lending institutions and the financial community.
As founder of Wheeler & Company, CPAs (a Certified Public Accounting firm specializing in income taxation, financial management and planning, and strategic business planning), Mr. Wheeler’s responsibilities have included implementation and management of a full-charge computerized bookkeeping service encompassing bank reconciliation, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, compliance reporting, payroll services, financial statement preparation, and auditing. Over the years, Wheeler’s accounting firm has represented the founders and other senior executives of several successful technology companies.
In addition to his diverse history as both a CEO and CFO for several large businesses, Mr. Wheeler is active in his community and has proudly served a number of nonprofit organizations. He currently sits on the boards of the “32 for 2032” San Diego Olympic Committee and the Thunderbird Foundation for the Arts. Additional leadership positions have included:

Matt Wheeler
Senior Accounts Manager
Matt is currently serving as managing partner of LMGW Certified Public Accountants LLP, a boutique tax and accounting firm in Silicon Valley and one of Accounting Today magazine's Top 100 Best Firms to Work For in the nation. He is an expert in the tax treatment of equity compensation and consults for Muddy River Capital on financial decisions and company structuring throughout the portfolio.
Laura W. Dunn
Marketing and Project Manager
After beginning her career in real estate in 2008, Laura joined Silverstream Capital and soon found a niche as a jack-of-all-trades in portfolio management. She holds a BA from UC Santa Barbara in Business Economics and Accounting, a CA broker’s license for real estate and is a certified Project Management Professional. Laura brings project management skills to the portfolio as well as marketing, financial and investment expertise.
Thomas G. Wheeler
Construction Project Manager
Tommy began his career in the Construction Industry as a general laborer in 2011 working with a 20-ton barge crane in the Stockton, CA delta. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Construction Management with a Minor in Business Entrepreneurship from California State University – Chico in the Spring of 2014. He has experience as an Estimator in the Public Works sector in the Bay Area and moved to San Diego shortly after his graduation. For the past 2 years Tommy has worked in a Project Management role in Commercial Construction General Contracting, specializing in high-end Tenant Improvement Projects within the Hospitality Industry for companies such as the Hyatt Hotel & Marriott Brands. Tommy consults for Muddy River Capital on construction related projects and investments.
Jim Boswell
IT Specialist
Jim brings 28 years of experience in information technology with a focus on transformational business change in value added process to Muddy River Capital. He has served in leadership roles in IT and business transformation at both Tyson Foods and Nestle as well as 12 years of management and business process improvement consulting with clients such as Bacardi, Dole Foods, Medimpact, MRC Global, Brightstar and Spirit AeroSystems, among others.
